Objective Evaluation of 3D Sound Binaural Rendering Perception Effects
With the gradual application of binaural rendering technology in terminals, the demand for subjective and objective evaluation of binaural rendering effects is growing. In this paper, based on the existing secondary dimensions(sound quality, localization, and space)for evaluating the perceptual effects of 3D sound binaural rendering,a more comprehensive and detailed objective evaluation and modeling of the tertiary dimensions is conducted, and the scoring results of each tertiary dimension obtained through subjective perception experiments are modeled by ridge regression with different types of objective features of the standard artificial head binaural recordings. The results show that the evaluation of the three-level dimensions of mellowness, overall sound quality, sound source distance, static source localization, spatial perception, reverberant sound quality and spatial naturalness depend more on the binaural spatial characteristics;clarity is more strongly correlated with the time-frequency characteristics;and the remaining characteristics depend more on the combination of time-frequency characteristics and binaural spatial characteristics.
