Discussion and improvement of unloading arch theory
The unloading arch theory is a calculation method that is commonly used for the bearing capacity of un-derground protective engineering structures. In practical applications, the theory still has some unreasonable as-pects from hypothesis to calculation model. For example, the bearing capacity is on the high side when calculating bending and compression failure, while it is on the low side when calculating shear failure, etc.,which needs to be improved and corrected. The variable cross-section parabolic arch bearing model is used to represent the surface force effect generated by the bending and compression of the rock lintel, and the direct shear damage model of the critical interface of the tunnel sidewall is used to represent the shear damage)of the deep rock beam. The calcula-tion results show that the improved model better meets the practical needs of the integrated design of the static load section and the dynamic load section of the protective engineering.
