Comparison of Decomposition Rates of Green Leaves and Fallen Leaves of Chinese Fir in Subtropical Zone
In this study, the changes of physical and chemical properties and decomposition rate of Chinese fir(Cunninghamia lanceolata)green leaves and fallen leaves in subtropical China were studied. The results showed that, the decomposition and nutrient release of Chinese fir leaves and litter were similar, however the decomposition rate and nutrient release of Chinese fir leaves were faster than those of green leaves.During the two-year decomposition period, the water content and decomposition rate of the two leaves decreased significantly. There was a significant difference between the two treatments.During the two-year decomposition period, the changing trend of decomposition rates of the two kinds of leaves changed is from fast to slow. The decomposition rate of fallen leaves was faster than that of green leaves. The correlation analysis showed that C ∶ N and lignin ∶ N were highly correlated with the decomposition rate of fallen leaves, indicating that the decomposition rate of fallen leaves was mainly affected by C ∶ N and lignin∶ N.
