Experimental and Simulation Study on Performance of Air-suspending Centrifugal Air Compressor for Hydrogen Cell
Air suspending centrifugal air compressor has the advantages of oil free, high efficiency, low cost, light weight and good dynamic response, which become the best choice for vehicle hydrogen cell air compressor. In order to reach the vehicle hydrogen cell with 130kW reactor power, the two-stage air bearing centrifugal air compressor with rated pressure ratio of 2.8,mass flow rate of 130g/s,speed of 88000r/min and power of 22kW was independently developed. The aerodynamic performance of the air compressor in the range of 60000~95000r/min was tested on the test rig.Meanwhile, the leakage flow model of the centrifugal air compressor was constructed and numerically simulated. Finally, the simulation results were analyzed and compared with the experimental results. The results showed that the maximum speed of the centrifugal air compressor reaches 95000r/min and the maximum adiabatic efficiency could reaches 77.04%.
