Ancient ferries played a pivotal role in the transportation of goods,the bartering of commodities,and the movement of people,thereby fostering substantial economic,cultural,and intellectual growth in the vicinity.Moreover,they constitute a precious cultural lega-cy,facilitating contemporary explorations into history and culture.This article focuses on the Songkou Ancient Ferry located in Songkou Town,Yongtai County,Fuzhou City,Fujian Province.Through an analysis of its prevailing spatial challenges,the objective is to forge a public spatial landscape for Songkou Ancient Town,rooted in its rich ferry culture.This,in turn,offers valuable insights for safeguarding,revitalizing,and advancing contemporary aquatic cultural heritage,along with its adjacent villages and towns.
