Research on Urban Theory and Architectural Design Strategies of Rem Koolhaas Based on"the Box"
By comparing and analyzing three completed works of Rem Koolhaas from different periods,namely Kunsthal in Rotterdam,IIT McCormick Tribune Center,and Milstein Hall Cornell University,this paper explores the relationship between Koolhaas'urban theory and architectural practice.The three completed works are all"the Box".As a classic prototype of modem architecture,the box presents a com-pletely different spatial state in Koolhaas'critical thinking on function and form,anti-Mies,Bigness and magestructure,coupled with highly challenging structural implementation.
