Calculation and analysis of two-side unequal stiffness retaining pile-inner support pit
The site of the foundation pit is compact, and the surrounding environment is becoming increasingly complex, often resulting in significant differences on both sides of the foundation pit. When the conditions on both sides of the foundation pit are quite different, the two sides of the retaining piles are often designed with different stiffnesses. At present, insufficient consideration has been given to the coupling effect of double-sided retaining piles through internal support in the calculation of such foundation pits.In the solution of the internal sup-port stiffness coefficient, the adjustment factor λ for the support immovable point is unknown. In order to consider the influence of the differ-ence in the stiffness of the bilateral retaining piles on the design calculation, this paper proposes a calculation method that considers the two-sided retaining at the same time. After comparing the engineering cases,it proves that the method of this paper is reasonable and accu-rate.The parameter analysis shows that when only one side of the pile stiffness is strengthened, the lateral displacement of the pile on the strengthened side decreases, and the lateral displacement of the pile on the non-strengthened side slightly increases. With the increase of the stiffness of one side of the retaining pile, the immovable point of the support gradually moves to the stiffening side.Suggested values of the adjustment factor λ for the support immovable point are presented.
