Teaching Reform and Practice of the Course"Preliminary Architecture"in Applied Undergraduate Universities
The course"Preliminary Architecture"is one of the important basic courses for the lower grades of architecture majors.Against the dual background of talent cultivation and professional certification in local application-oriented undergraduate colleges, the Teaching and Research Office of the"Preliminary Architecture"course at Hubei University of Engineering has, after several years of teaching prac-tice exploration and research, reformed the teaching objectives, teaching content, teaching methods, course assessment, and other aspects of the"Preliminary Architecture"course. While considering basic skill training,it also focuses more on the cultivation of students'thinking, cognition, and spatial perception.Guided by the new curriculum system of"spatial experience+spatial combination+spatial construction",combined with the multi-channel teaching methods of smart platforms such as Learning Communication and Micro Teaching Assistants, the teaching method mainly focuses on independent thinking and hands-on practice, enabling students to better grasp the basic methods and steps of design. At the same time,it improves the low classroom efficiency, difficulty for students to understand, and lack of interest in learn-ing in traditional teaching,These teaching practices can provide reference and inspiration for related majors in similar universities regarding the difficulty of later transformation and application.
