Case study in connection method of large diameter drainage pipelines reconstruction on metro stations
Four kinds of connection methods between the reconstruction drainage pipelines and the original pipelines named"side connec-tion","vertical connection","inner bypass pipe connection"and"outer bypass pipe connection"were summarized based on analyzing sev-eral cases of large diameter drainage pipelines reconstruction on metro station construction. The cost and difficulty of side connection were compared to vertical connection because both of them need building a new arriving shaft.Meanwhile, the requirement of construction preci-sion of vertical connection was higher than side connection. The outer bypass pipe connection was mainly used for connecting of rainwater pipelines reconstruction of jacking technique under poor geology condition.Comparatively, inner bypass pipe connection cost the least and constructed the simplest due to the operation of water drainage flowing and jacking arriving completed in the original jacking shaft.Four kinds of connection methods could minimize the impact to original water drainage system during the reconstruction of drainage pipelines and the optimum connection method was chosen to apply decided by concrete analysis of actual situations.
