Analysis of Road Network Density Characteristics in Major Cities of Fujian Province
Road network density is a comprehensive indicator reflecting the level of traffic and urban development.Against the backdrop of advocating the planning concept of"narrow roads and dense network",based on the OSM data,a comparative analysis of the road network density in the nine cities and one district of Fujian Province was conducted using a unified caliber.By combining population density indica-tors and using k-means clustering method, the coupling relationship between road network density and population characteristics in major administrative regions of various cities was analyzed in depth. The study found that the average road network density in the nine cities and one district of Fujian Province still has a certain gap from the target value(8 km/km2).Coastal urban areas have higher road network den-sity than mountainous urban areas, and the road network density in areas outside the core old city districts of each city needs to be further improved. Finally, taking the provincial capital city of Fuzhou as an example, the Moran index in spatial correlation analysis is used to ex-plore the compatibility between functional land and road network construction. It is found that there are many mismatched spaces between road network construction and urban development in the peripheral areas of the city, and corresponding improvement suggestions are pro-posed,providing reference for establishing a scientific and reasonable road network density monitoring and evaluation system.
