Research of Bearing Capacity with Ball Support in Spatial Grid Structures
The capacity of supports play a key role in structural design and construction of spatial grid structures.The article analysis stress performance of three different supports at different positions by ABAQUS.Compared with different positions of supports,the middle support has obviously higher ultimate-bearing capacity than corner and edge supports but the three position-supports have similar yield bearing capacity.The results show that yield-bearing capacity and global stability of combination-support are much higher than other two.Also,yield-bearing capacity of the half hollow-ball support is higher than that of the hollow-ball support at position with comer and edge be-cause of symmetrical forces while the half hollow-ball support has loser yield-bearing capacity subjected to asymmetric forces of the mid-dle support.In addition,the half hollow-ball and combination-support could be beneficial for process and construction,and costs can be reduced by saving steel.
