Research on the Construction Strategy of Quanzhou City's"Sponge City"
The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China has vigorously promoted the construc-tion of"sponge city"since 2014.After ten years of innovative exploration,it has achieved rich results in both theory and practice.As a southeast coastal city with developed private economy,Quanzhou failed to fully consider the local development characteristics in the explora-tion of the construction practice of"sponge city".Although it invested heavily in urban construction,its performance in the typhoon rain-storm waterlogging disaster is still unsatisfactory,and it has never developed distinctive local characteristics and typical demonstration role.This article discusses this and proposes that Quanzhou city should fully utilize the landform characteristics of Quanzhou's"four mountains and two rivers",the economic characteristics of the developed building materials industry,and the rich cultural characteristics of its historical and cultural heritage.Through three effective strategies,Quanzhou's urban construction will be guided towards a new type of ur-banization with higher levels,better environment,and more prosperous industries.
