At present,Fuzhou Convention and Exhibition Island is faced with the problems of temporary flow of people,single regional func-tion,lack of sharing and experience of space,etc.,which is difficult to provide sustainable vitality for the area.By introducing the theory of urban catalyst,this paper analyzes the necessity of introducing catalyst in convention and Exhibition Island and the feasibility of urban com-plex as catalyst,At the same time,discusses the characteristics and path of public space of urban complex as catalyst point,and focuses the design strategy on four aspects:the series connection of composite functions,the opening of architectural boundaries,the aggregation of shared space and the construction of dynamic scenes.In the hope of triggering catalyst effect through the construction of public space.
