Experiment on cuttage seedling of Calocedrus formosana
Using Calocedrus formosana as the test material, the comparative experiments of different cutting seasons, cutting substrate ratio, rooting hormone and different mother tree age cuttings were conducted to analyze and explore the effects of different treatments on rooting rate, rooting number and root length. The results showed that different seasons had significant effects on the survival rate of C.formosana cuttings. The cuttings in March had the highest survival rate and maximum number of roots. The effect of different seasons on the root length of C.formosana cuttings was not significant. The rooting number and root length of C.formosana cuttings with silver sand as sub-strate were the highest compared with other substrates, and the survival rate of C.formosana cuttings with 3 peat soil and 7 loess as sub-strate was the highest compared with other substrates. The rooting number and root length of cuttings treated with NAA were the highest compared with other rooting agents, and the survival rate of cuttings treated with IBA was the highest compared with other rooting agents, but the difference was not significant. The age of the mother tree had a extremely significant effect on the survival rate, the survival rate of cuttings in 1~2 year was the highest, which was up to 83.8%.The survival rate of cuttings in 10 years and 20 years was not high. The age of the mother tree had little effect on the root length, but had a certain effect on the number of roots. The number of roots was the highest in 1~2 year old cuttings, followed by 20 year old cuttings.
