Research on the path of digital inclusive finance to raise rural residents'consumption level in China
Based on the panel data of 210 prefecture-level cities in China from 2012 to 2021,the two-way fixed effects model and the mediating model are constructed to analyze the impact of digital inclusive finance on rural residents'consumption level,as well as the mediating effect of human capital in the relationship between digital inclusive finance and rural residents'consumption level. It further analyzes the regional heterogeneity and structural heterogeneity of the impact. It is found that digital inclusive finance significantly promotes the consumption level of rural residents, and the level of human capital plays a positive mediating effect in the process. And the impact has significant regional heterogeneity.Of which, digital inclusive finance has a significant positive impact on the consumption level of rural residents in the eastern region, while it has no impact on that in the central and western regions. In addition, the influence of different dimensions of digital inclusive finance on rural residents'consumption level is significantly heterogeneous. The depth of use and the degree of digitalization have a significant positive impact on rural residents'consumption level, while the coverage has no significant impact on rural residents'consumption level.Based on these findings, this paper proposes countermeasures such as enhancing the development and promotion of digital inclusive finance, strengthening its role in human capital cultivation, developing digital inclusive finance according to local conditions, and promoting balanced development of digital inclusive finance structures,so as to continuously release the consumption capacity in rural areas and raise the consumption levels of rural residents.
