Population characteristics of arbor layer in ridge forest community in Wuyi National Park
[Objective]Population dynamics in the arbor layer of mixed forests of coniferous and broad-leaved trees grown at the ridge line were surveyed and analyzed, aiming to provide theoretical value and practical significance for advancing the biodiversity of arbor layer in mixed forests and its ecology function study.[Method]The community dynamics of forest community at the ridge line of Wuyi National Park were analyzed from the perspectives of importance value, species abundance,Shannon-Wiener index,proba-bility of interspecific encounter,Gleason index,Pielous index, biomass and slope aspect through 2 rounds of surveys of fixed plots.[Result]In the ridge plot of Wuyi Mountain National Park, total species number of the arbor layer remained constant,by the occur-rence of Ternstroemia to offset the disappear of Lyonia, summing up to 52 species in 31 genera of 17 families. The biomass distribu-tion followed the order of trunk>root>branch>leaf, and total biomass showed an increasing trend. There was no significant differ-ence in species diversity, though the southeast slope and southwest slope varied significantly in Pielous index.[Conclusion]The re-generation rate of the arbor layer at the ridge line was relatively fast, and the mortality rate of trees with small diameter at the breast height was high. The community structure was overall stable without change within short term, with Rhododendron latoucheae,R.ovatum,Schima remotiserrata and Pinus taiwanensis being the dominant species.
