Effect of allelopathic extracts from different parts of Toxicodendron succedaneum on its tissue culture seedlings
[Objective]The allelopathic effect of allelopathy substances, produced by different parts of Toxicodendron succedaneum,on the growth and development of its tissue culture seedlings was investigated to provide theoretical support for its introduction and cultivation.[Method]Substrates were added with methanol and water extracts of root bark and bark of T.succedaneum,to investigate its impacts on the number, diameter and length of root, fresh weight and biomass of its tissue culture seedlings.[Result]The addi-tion of 1.2 mL·L-1 anhydrous ethanol had the least impact on the rooting of tissue culture seedlings, which was recommended as the optimum concentration for dissolving its methanol extract. The aqueous extracts of root bark and bark, and methanol extract of bark showed inhibitory effects on the growth of tissue culture seedlings, while the methanol extract of root bark had weak allelopathic-pro-motive effect on the root length as a result of early rooting time.[Conclusion]The extract of T.succedaneum bark exerted greater al-lelopathic-inhibitory effect than that of root bark;and considering its greater allelopathic effect, methanol was recommended as an ef-fective extractant for study on allelopathy substances.
