In order to screen the new varieties of cowpea with high yield and high quality suitable for being planted in Jiangsu Province,the regional test of cowpea in Jiangsu Province was carried out from 2022 to 2023.The experimen-tal results in Yancheng Point for two years showed that:Among the 13 tested varieties,the total yield of Sujiang 17-35 was the highest,which was 29.29％higher than that of the control group,followed by Bangdaxialong,which was 27.80％higher than that of the control group,and the third was Yanjiang No.5 which was 26.19％higher than that of the control group.The yield of the control Sujiang No.3 was the lowest,and the other 12 tested varieties all showed different magnitudes of increases in yield compared with the control,with excellent comprehensive traits.It was recommended to continue the production tests to further identify the high yield and stability of the varieties.
