Study on the Adsorption Performance Regarding Biochar of Platycladus Orientalis Leaves on Congo Red Dye
On one hand, the preparation of biochar from Platycladus orientalis leaves at different pyrolysis temperatures and its adsorption performance on Congo Red(CR)solution were investigated. On the other hand, the biochar was characterized by using scanning electron microscopy,Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, specific surface area and pore size analyzer, and X-ray diffraction. In the meanwhile, the effects of pH value, biochar dosage, adsorption time, oscillation speed, temperature, and initial CR con-centration on the adsorption performance in CR solution were explored.Generally speaking, the results are shown as follows.Firstly, under the conditions of pH=6,a biochar dosage of 0.06 g,an adsorption time of 30 min,an oscillation speed of 150 r·min-1,a temperature of 25 ℃,and an initial CR concen-tration of 200 mg·L-1,biochar derived from Platycladus orientalis leaves at 800 ℃ exhibits optimal ad-sorption performance.Secondly, the adsorption rate can reach 99.5%,and the adsorption capacity is 165.9 mg·g-1.Lastly,the adsorption isotherm conforms to the Langmuir model, and the kinetics follows the pseudo-first-order model. What's more, the adsorption process is a spontaneous endothermic process.
