This paper focused on the concentration of polyunsaturated fatty acids(PUFA)in ethyl esters(EE)converted from winterized Schizochytrium sp.oil via urea inclusion method. The impact of various post-treatment methods, cooling temperatures, cooling times, ethanol concentrations,urea/EE ratios, and ethanol/urea ratios,on the urea inclusion process was investigated through one-way tests, and orthogonal tests were conducted to determine the optimal process conditions. The results demonstrated that the utilization of the optimized post-treatment method significantly enhanced the involvement of urea in the inclusion process with EE,resulting in an increased PUFA content in the non-urea included frac-tions.Under the optimized conditions, the contents of docosahexaenoic acid and docosapentaenoic acid in the EE-type microalgal oil were improved from 47.17%and 13.93%to 73.20%and 19.87%,respec-tively.
