The paper adopts the methods of literature and logical analysis to analyze and discuss the con-cept of national image,the origin,dissemination and development of martial arts,and the predicament of the dissemination and development of traditional Chinese martial arts,and proposes countermeasures and suggestions for their dissemination and development from the perspective of national image.The counter-measures and suggestions are as follows:firstly,promote the construction of international dissemination capacity of Confucius Institutes for martial arts,and build a good national image;secondly,enhance the influence of Chinese culture by telling good Chinese stories through classic film and television dramas;thirdly,coordinate the development of competitive martial arts and traditional martial arts with the aim to strengthen the country's cultural soft power.
