Study on the Phosphorus Adsorption Performance of Red Mud and Copper Slag Based Functional Ceramsite
Functional ceramsite was prepared using solid waste red mud and copper slag as raw materials, and its phosphorus adsorption was studied. The effects of firing temperature, additive, ceramsite dosage, initial pH,adsorption reaction time and initial phosphorus concentration on the phosphorus removal rate were investigated. The results showed that the optimal ratio of functional ceramsite was 5∶1∶4 of achieved by mixing red mud, copper slag, and bentonite, and adding 30%CaCO3.The best preparation process was to dry the raw materials mixed with green balls, hold them at 400℃for 10 min,and then heat up to 1 100℃for 30 min.For 100 mL phosphorus solution with an initial concentration of 2 μg/mL,the adsorption effect of ceramsite particles was the best when the initial pH was 2,the dosage of ceramsite was 9 g/L,the adsorption reaction time was 12 h,and the phosphorus removal rate was 96.67%.The XRD and SEM-EDS indicated that the main mineral components of the ceramsite were andradite, akermanite and gehlenite.
