Expanded Continuous Experimental Study on Flash Flotation of Crystalline Graphite
In order to prevent graphite flakes from being severely damaged during the flotation enrichment process due to multi-stage regrinding operations,a flash flotation equipment with an effective volume of 5 L was designed and developed. It was applied to the early recovery of monomer liberated graphite in the grinding and classification circuit, and an expanded continuous flotation experiment with a daily processing capacity of 1.5 t was carried out.The process flow adopted one stage of roughing, one stage of scavanging, eight stage of cleaning, and some middings were centrally re-concentrated.By comparing with the conventional process without flash flotation,it was found that under the premise of equivalent fixed carbon content and fixed carbon recovery rate of the concentrate,the+0.15 mm particle size yield in the concentrate using the flash flotation process increased by 1.99 percentage points. The implementation of flash flotation technology effectively prevents the overgrinding of graphite flake in the grinding and classification circuit, and realizes the early recovery of graphite that has already been dissociated from the settling sand, which is of great significance for the protection of large flake.
