Influence of Ball Milling on the Degree of Graphite Destruction of Fine Scales
Taking a fine scale graphite mine in northeast China as research object, the influence of ball milling time, ball milling concentration and medium filling rate on the destruction degree of graphite scale was investigated, the cumulative yield of milling products and the average particle size of graphite scale in the particles were analyzed, and the destruction mechanism of graphite scale was explored. The results show that,in the process of milling, the coarse graphite particles are destroyed first. The longer the ball milling time is,the higher the degree of damage of graphite flakes is,the degree rises to the highest level, reaching 68.17%at 30 min.The change of ball milling concentration has a great impact on the change of graphite particle size in the intergrowth. The average particle sizes of graphite scales in+300 μm and-300+180 μm decreased by 6.69%and 12.79%,respectively;The medium filling rate has little effect on the particle size of graphite particles. The development characteristics of cracks on the surface of graphite mineral particles show that the larger the particles, the more surface cracks, the more likely it is to be destroyed. The penetrating cracks in graphite monomer particles and the internal crystal cracks in the intergrowth are the main factors affecting the destruction of graphite scales.
