Study on the Performance of Ceramic Forming from the Tailings of a Granite-Type Lithium Ore in Yifeng County,Jiangxi Province
This experiment involved conducting mineralogical and physicochemical analyses on the post-beneficiation tailings of a granite-type lithium deposit in Yifeng. Its primary constituents include quartz, albite, and microcline, with a firing whiteness of 58.4%,a density of 2.53 g/cm3,and a refractoriness of 1 144℃,the firing trials were carried out to assess the suitability of these tailings for formulating glazes used in daily-use ceramic production. The findings suggest that a glaze formulation suitable for one-time firing at 1 310℃under reducing flame can be achieved by incorporating 30%of the tailings with other primary raw materials from different regions. Its whiteness is 67.4%,gloss is 81.5,water absorption rate is 0.2%,glaze hardness is 6.2 GPa,and the thermal shock resistance is that it can withstand 180-20℃thermal exchange without cracking once. The ceramic properties meet the"Tableware Porcelain"of GB/T 3532-2009 standard requirements for qualified products. This research provides reference for the comprehen-sive utilization of tailings resources following ore beneficiation in this region or similar types of mineral deposits.
