Study on the Preparation of Magnesium-Calcium Refractory Particles Using Calcium-Magnesium Phosphorus Tailings
The phosphorus tailings in the western Hubei region are mainly composed of calcium and magnesium, the content of dolomite reaches over 75%.After the process of reverse flotation for phosphorus removal and positive flotation for calcium and magnesium extraction, the recovery rate of calcium and magnesium reaches over 60%,and the MgO grade reaches over 20%.After the purified calcium and magnesium components are granulated-pre-calcined-graded-modified,calcium and magnesium refractory particles with volume density of 3.09 g/cm3,refractory degree greater than 1 800℃,load softening temperature of 1 660℃,and room temperature compressive strength of 58.4 MPa can be produced. The feasibility of using phosphorus tailings based refractory materials in the metallurgical industry has been verified through steel smelting tests, which have shown that phosphorus elements in tailings will not be integrated into the steel during the smelting process.
