Experimental Study on Flotation of a High Magnesium and Low Grade Phosphate Rock in Sichuan
Reverse flotation test was used to extract phosphorus and reduce magnesium from a high magnesium and low grade phosphate rock in Sichuan Province. The MgO grade of the mine was 9.10%,and the P2O5 grade was only 18.30%.The main phosphate minerals were fluorapatite, collophanite, and gangue minerals were mainly dolomite and quartz. The mineral distribution granularity was fine. The results showed that sulfuric acid was selected as phosphate inhibitor through conditional test, and the amount of sulfuric acid was 22 kg/t in rough flotation. The content of-0.074 mm in grinding fineness was 82.00%,and the collector was a mixture of carboxylic acid collector L+H which was made in the laboratory. The flotation process of"one stage of roughing, two stages of scavenging and three stages of cheaning"was determined by open-circuit flotation test. The closed-circuit flotation test can reduce the grade of MgO to 1.07%,and increase the grade of P2O5 to 30.17%and the recovery rate of P2O5 to 78.67%.Finally,the resource utilization of the phosphate ore with high magnesium and low grade is realized.
