Effect of Particle Size on Preparation and Adsorption Properties of Thermal Modified Coal Gangue
The coal gangue with different particle size was taken as raw material to prepare thermal modified coal gangue, and its effects on methylene blue adsorption were studied in this study. The results showed that the optimum preparation conditions and adsorption conditions of thermal modified coal gangue with different particle size were different. The thermal modified coal gangue with 200 mesh calcined at 750℃for 5 h achieved the best adsorption effect.Under the optimal adsorption conditions, the maximum adsorption capacity of modified coal gangue with 200 mesh was 87 mg/g,which were 13%and 9%higher than that of thermal modified coal gangue with 400 mesh and 600 mesh, respectively.XRD,SEM and BET were used to characterize the samples, and it was found that the thermal modified coal gangue with different particle size became porous compared with the original coal gangue, but coal gangue with 200 mesh had more significant effect, and the pores formed were mainly mesoporous.
