Study on Removal of Residual Chlorine from Water by Modified Sepiolite
In order to explore the method of efficient removal of residual chlorine in water,FeSO4 is used to modify sepiolite, and the optimal modification conditions are explored.Under the optimal modification conditions, the influences of different adsorption time,pH and initial concentra-tion of residual chlorine on the adsorption effect are explored. The results show that when modifier concentration is 10%,pH is 6.0,adsorption time is 24 h and residual chlorine concentration is 10 mg/L,FeSO4 modified sepiolite has the best adsorption effect on residual chlorine, and the removal rate reaches 91%.The fiber aggregation, roughness and porosity of the sepiolite increase, which leads to the increase of reaction points and adsorption capacity on the surface of the iron-modified sepiolite.XRD analysis shows that the new characteristic peak of Fe-containing crystals does not appear in the diffraction pattern of ferrous sulfate modified sepiolite, indicating that Fe-containing crystals may not be formed during the modification process.
