Study on the Influence of Early Grinding Behavior on the Quality of High Purity Sand Production from Vein Quartz
Grinding is a pretreatment method of rock minerals before being developed and utilized. The grinding methods adopted are different for different target products, performance requirements and mineral properties, the results are different. In this paper,high-quality vein quartz is used as raw material. The technological conditions and parameters such as material of tank and grinding ball, medium gradation, filling rate of medium and mineral, grinding time and comparison between dry and wet method are studied. The results show that the influence of tank material on product purity is greater than that of grinding ball material.the PR tank made of flexible material is more favorable to reduce over-comminution.The yttrium-stabilized zirconia ceramic ball and polyurethane rubber pot are used in the pre-grinding of high purity quartz sand, can effectively avoid the pollution of foreign impurity elements, especially Al,Fe and other metal elements. When the mineral filling rate is 15%-25%and the grinding time is 30 min,the effective grain size is 60-200 mesh(0.074-0.25 mm)and the grinding yield reaches 60%.The wet grinding process can avoid media wear to the maximum extent, and the wear rate of grinding medium is only 0.038%when one ton of ore is ground for one hour, while that of dry grinding is 0.86%.The wet grinding process is more economical and the product with high purity is more secure.
