Study on Shear Acoustic Emission Characteristics of Loose Particles Under Different Consolidation Pressures
In order to study the mechanical properties and evolution of AE characteristics of loose particles, consolidation shear tests and acoustic emission AE systems were used to conduct shear failure tests on loose particles under different consolidation pressures. The relationship between consolidation characteristics, mechanical characteristics, and acoustic emission characteristics during the entire consolidation shear process was analyzed. The results show that during the consolidation process,as the consolidation pressure increases, the porosity and compression coefficient of the loose particles continuously decrease, while the compression modulus increases. In the shear test,as the consolidation pressure increases, the shear stress also increases, with a maximum value of about 350 kPa.The AE energy and ringing count continue to increase, while the b value decreases, and the value at which b reaches a stable state becomes smaller. The changes in these parameters are closely related to the stage of internal structural damage caused by particle shear.
