Experimental Study on the Influence of Basalt Fiber on the Mechanical Properties of Concrete
To solve the problem of insufficient mechanical properties of ordinary hydraulic concrete, basalt fibers with a single fiber length of 12 mm were used as raw materials to investigate the influence of basalt fiber content on four performance indicators of concrete, namely compression resistance, tensile strength, impermeability, and abrasion resistance, and their influencing mechanisms were analyzed. The results show that with the increase of basalt fiber content, the compressive strength of concrete reduces to a certain extent, and the splitting tensile strength first decreases and then increases. When the volume content is 0.3%,the splitting tensile strength increases by 3%.Adding 0.1%and 0.2%basalt fibers to concrete can improve the impermeability to 14%and 29%,respectively.Adding basalt fibers to conventional concrete can significantly reduce its impact and wear resistance. The research results can provide reference and inspiration for optimizing the mix proportion design of hydraulic concrete in different application scenarios.
