There has reached a consensus in the translation field that ideology has a restrictive effect on translation activities.The ideology that manipulates translation practice and affects cross-cultural communication includes the translator's individual ideology,the mainstream ideology of the target society and the target readers'ideology that embodies their expectations.Different as translation ideologies of Shu Lin and Yutang Lin were,the working mechanism of their translation ideologies was basically the same,that is,their translation ideologies exerted influences on culture import and export,the selection of subject matters,the application of translation strategies in the process of translation and the popularity of translated works.And they also had an important impact on the intercultural communication and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations.
