Serological investigation of Mycoplasma gallisepticum in non-immune chicken flocks in Fujian province from 2018 to 2019
To investigate the infection of Mycoplasma gallisepticum(MG)in laying hens and breeders in Fujian province from 2018 to 2019,and provide scientific basis for the monitoring of MG.A commercial ELISA kit was used to detect MG antibody in 916 serum samples from 21 chicken flocks in Fujian province from 2018 to 2019,the epidemic law of MG in Fujian province was analyzed. From 2018 to 2019,the total positive rate of MG antibody was 69.43%(636/916)in non-immune chicken flocks in Fujian province, and the positive rate of MG antibody was 90.48%in 21 chicken flocks detected, among which 4 flocks with positive rate of 0%~20%were detected,in 21%~50%of 4,51%~100%of 13.At the brood stage(1-42 days old),the positive rate of MG antibody was as high as 37.10%,and it was found that the positive rate of MG antibody was 77.61%from the beginning of laying to the phase of culling, the positive rate of MG antibody was more than 2 times of that of brood stage. The infection rates of MG in layers and breeder flocks were 79.22%and 75.22%,respectively.The investigation of MG antibody in unvaccinated chicken flocks in Fujian province shows that MG infection is common in Fujian province, and the pathogen is transmitted horizontally in the chicken flocks.MG infection also exists in breeder flocks, which makes vertical transmission possible. This study investigated the infection of MG in chicken flocks in Fujian province, and laid a foundation for taking preventive and control measures in time, reducing the infection rate of MG in chicken flocks and improving the control effect.
