Comparative analysis on three foot-and-mouth disease virus type O and A antibody ELISA detection kits
Objective:Compare the performance differences of different Foot-and-mouth disease virus(FMDV)type O and A antibody ELISA detection kits, provide reference to the grassroots veterinary laboratories in selecting a suitable kit.Methods:174 immunized serum samples were collected from pig and goat, and the antibodies were detected by FMDV-O and A antibody ELISA detection kits with three different manufactures, then compared the antibody positive rate, coincidence rate, and convenience of various kits. Results:The FMDV-O antibody positive rate of three kits were all above 90%,and the coincidence rate was 89.66%;the FMDV-A antibody positive rate had a big difference among three kits with 56.90%to 95.98%,and the coincidence rate was only 52.87%.Conclusions:There were certain differences in the detection results of three FMDV-O and A antibody ELISA detection kits, and the differences had statistically significant(P<0.05);all of the three kits could be used for qualitative determination of FMDV-O antibody, but not all apply to FMDV-A.
