The aim of this study is to compare and analyze the production performance of cage rearing and rearing on floor in Jinding ducks, which providing a reference basis for evaluating the production performance of laying ducks under different rearing models. At 12 weeks of age,600 Jinding ducks were divided into two rearing models, with 300 ducks raised in cages and the remaining 300 ducks raised on floor. The observation and measurement of feeding up to 72 weeks old showed that under the cage rearing model, age at the first egg of Jinding ducks was 132.91 d,the egg production at 43 weeks old was 149.26,the egg production at 72 weeks old was 321.30,and the total egg weight was 23.74 kg,all of which were higher than the rearing on floor model's age at the first egg of 139.63 d,the egg production at 43 weeks old was 143.49,the egg production at 72 weeks old was 308.63,and the total egg weight was 22.43 kg;In addition, the results of egg quality testing showed no significant difference between cage rearing and rearing on floor. The above results indicate that the cage rearing model of Jinding duck can achieve better egg laying performance than rearing on floor model, which is suitable for cage raising.
