Serological survey of pseudorabies on breeding pigs in Xiamen city
Serologic infection status of pseduorabies virus (PRV) on breeding pigs in xiamen city was studied to provide references for control and decontamination of PR in pig farm. 1350 sera samples of pigs from 40 pig farms were deteced the antibody of PRV-gE and PRV-gB by ELISA kits in September, 2023. The PR antibody of different regions, pig species, farms of different sizes and the number of immunizations of breeding pigs were analyzed. The results showed that the farm PRV-gE antibody positive rate was 20.00% and the individual positive rate was 12.00%. The farm qualified rate of PRV-gB antibody was 87.50%, and the individual qualified rate of was 90.22%. The positive rates of PRV-gE antibody was the higher and gB immunoantibody qualified level is lower in Xiangan than Tongan. The highest gE antibody positive level was 13.11% in sows, and was lowest (4.08%) in boars (P=0.013); Reserve sows have the highest level of PRV-gB antibody(97.69%). Comparing different sizes farms, the positive rate of gE antibody in below 2000 pig stock farms, 2000 to 4000 farms, and over 4000 farms were 3.89%, 22.99%, 11.07%(P<0.001); the qualified rates of gB anti-body were 90.52%, 87.20% and 94.30%(P=0.005), respectively. The farms with PR vaccine 2 times got higher PRV-gE antibody positive rates (P<0.001). The overall control of swine pseudorabies was good in the breeding herd in Xiamen, but there were still wild virus infection in some farms. It is also necessary to strengthen immunization, improve management level, and continue to do a good job in purifying porcine pseudorabies.
