To enhance the purity of body appearance,production performance,and various physical and chemical indices of the Dehua black chicken black crest strain,a study was conducted focusing on the purification and breeding of this strain,along with an analysis of its effects.The results indicated that after four generations of purification and breeding,there were significant improvements in the purity of body appearance characteristics,the survival rates during both the brooding and growing periods,as well as in the weight and egg weight at 13 weeks of age and prior to the onset of production.Additionally,weight uniformity showed marked improvement;the hatching rate exhibited a gradual increase;and the levels of unsaturated fatty acids and inosinic acid met the standard requirements for geographical indication products of Dehua black chicken.
