Study on the effect of mixed semen transfusion on the reproductive capacity of sows
To investigate the effects of injecting semen from a single male pig and mixed semen from two male pigs during an estrus period on the reproductive performance of sows,3～6 tires"Landrace×Large"multiparous estrus sows with relatively stable reproductive performance in a large-scale pig farm in Quanzhou city were randomly divided into two groups.The group 1 was the single sperm group(186 pigs),which received semen from a single Duroc male pig;The group 2 is the mixed sperm group(155 pigs),receiving mixed semen from two Duroc boars.Feed until delivery and measure reproductive capacity.The results showed that using mixed semen from two boars for mating increased the pregnancy and delivery rates of sows,and the average total number of piglets per litter and healthy piglets per litter were significantly higher than using single boar semen for mating(P<0.01).The use of mixed boar semen for insemina-tion can significantly improve the reproductive ability of sows.
