Chen Yun and Ying Shih were two early Roman Law teachers in China.What were their positions in the ac-ademic history of Roman Law in China?Roman law itself is easily marginalized by modem jurisprudence,and those who taught Roman Law more than one hundred years ago were almost forgotten and annihilated.In order to investigate the life,works,and academic status of Mr.Chen Yun(Zhong Fu)and Mr.Ying Shih(Pu Quan),this article takes Mr.Ying Shih's biography,academic seniority and suspicion of textbook plagiarism as the investigation clues,proving that Mr.Chen Yun and Mr.Ying Shih are both important scholars of the first generation of Roman law in China.Furthermore,this article outlines the individual typical and general profile of the first generation of Roman legal scholars in China.
