"New Principles"Take over the"Old Rules":The Study of Narrative of Liberation in Jingpo Maide
The film Jingpo Maiden presents the social and historical changes in the ethnic minority region of Yunnan in the early period of PRC.It put the narrative of women's liberation and national liberation together,and told a story about how Jingpo people overcame the obstacles of Jingpo's"old rules"and abolished the chief of the mountain in the process of developing production and getting organized.The film adopted common themes in socialist literature and art such as"new people","developing production",and"getting organ-ized",and successfully created the image of Die Nou midst the changes under the"direct transition to socialism"policy.Although the film was influenced by the policies of the time and intentionally incorporated the theme of class struggle,it did expose the old system of the chief of the mountain and offer information about life at the time that went beyond class struggle.
