Deliberation about Fertility:"Love and Sorrow"Embedded in the Discussions of Urban Women's Fertility on the"Xiaohongshu"Platform
This article uses the LDA topic model and the Naive Bayes model in natural language processing technology to conduct data mining and analysis of 87,750 blog posts by urban women on the"Xiaohongshu"platform. It is found that they mainly discuss topics such as the value of childbearing, the cost of raising children, physical pain, spousal responsibilities, and women's rights and interests.Their emotional communication on various topics presents a process of dynamic interactive and intense deliberations, rather than a simple polarization dominated by negative emotions such as"fear of marriage"and"fear of childbearing".Overall, calculated childbearing has become a new concept among urban women, behind which is a more responsible attitude towards themselves and birthing. In the future,we should pay more attention to the effects of emotional communication generated by the"self-centered"narrative discourse on social media platforms, and build a public opinion environment friendly to childbearing in China.
