Algorithmic Gaze on Women:Gendered Ethics and Governance Framework for Deepfakes
The intersection of deep synthesis and traditional gendered bias has created a novel risk for women to digital violence and thus requires digital disciplinary mechanisms.Deepfakes, characterized by high fidelity, accessibility, and widespread dissemination, have in-tensified gender inequality by undermining women's autonomy, dignity, and the fundamental trust required for social engagement. The challenges posed by deepfake technology to gender ethics represent systemic rather than isolated issues, resulting from a combination of technological misuse, inadequate ethical frameworks, and regulatory gaps. While nations have implemented various technical, ethical, and legal measures to address these concerns, significant challenges in governance effectiveness persist. To address these systemic challen-ges,this study proposes a multi-dimensional governance framework, encompassing technological safeguards, ethical consensus-building,and legal protections that combine individual empowerment with systematic regulation. This framework integrates civil remedies and crim-inal sanctions while emphasizing the interplay between technological security, ethical foundations, and legal shields.
