Clinical Observation of Soft Tissue Balance Technique in the Treatment of 30 Cases of Severe Knee Osteoarthritis of the Elderly
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of soft tissue balance technique in the treatment of severe knee osteoarthritis of the elderly. Methods:Sixty elderly patients with severe knee osteoarthritis were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with traditional massage methods, while the treatment group was treated with soft tissue balance technique. Both groups were treated for 4 weeks, observing their clinical efficacy,as well as the HSS and VAS scores before and after treatment. Results:In the treatment group,14 cases were recovered,10 cases were significantly improved,5 cases were effective, and one case was ineffective, with a total effective rate of 96.67%;in the control group,7 cases were recovered,5 cases showed significant improvement,10 cases were effective, and 8 cases were ineffective, with a total effective rate of 73.33%.The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.01).After treatment, both HSS and VAS scores in the two groups improved compared to before treatment(P<0.01);and the treatment group was better than the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion:The conservative treatment of severe knee osteoarthritis of the elderly with soft tissue balance technique is simple, practical, and effective, suitable for clinical promotion.
