Effect of Warm Acupuncture and Moxibustion Combined with Sacral Canal Closure on Lumbar Function and Pain in Patients with Lumbar Disc Herniation
Objective To investigate the effect of warm acupuncture and moxibustion combined with sacral canal closure on lumbar disc herniation(LDH).Methods 120 patients with LDH admitted to Shandong Wendeng Orthopedic Hospital from May 2021 to May 2023 were selected as the study objects,and were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group,with 60 cases in each group.The control group was treated with sacral canal closure,and the observation group was treated with warm acupuncture and moxibustion on this basis.Both groups were treated for 4 weeks.The clinical efficacy,lumbar function,pain degree,dysfunction and inflammation level were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 95.00%,higher than 83.33% of the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P﹤0.05).After treatment,the Japanese Orthopaedic Association evaluation score in the observation group was(24.78±2.18)points,which was higher than(20.13±2.11)points in the control group,while the pain Visual Analogue Score and Oswestry Disability Index score were(1.72±0.24)points and(11.45±1.43)points,respectively,which were lower than(2.22±0.35)points and(13.25±1.49)points in the control group,and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P﹤0.05);the levels of interleukin-6,C-reactive protein and tumor necrosis factor-α in the observation group were(65.35±6.17)pg/mL,(5.63±1.12)mg/L and(50.41±5.13)pg/mL,respectively,which were lower than(70.51±6.85)pg/mL,(7.24±1.18)mg/L and(55.47±5.36)pg/mL in the control group,and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P﹤0.05).Conclusion Warm acupuncture and moxibustion combined with sacral canal closure is effective in the treatment of LDH patients,which can accelerate the local inflammation regression,reduce pain,and better restore lumbar function,and is worthy of clinical promotion.
