The Effect of Bairui Granules Combined with Amoxicillin and Potassium Clavulanate on Inflammatory Response and Symptom Resolution Time in Children with Acute Tonsillitis
Objective To explore the effect of Bairui granules combined with amoxicillin and potassium clavulanate on inflammatory response and symptom resolution time in children with acute tonsillitis. Methods 102 children with acute tonsillitis treated in our hospital from May 2022 to May 2023 were selected as the study objects, and were divided into a control group and an observation group according to random number table method, with 51 cases in each group. The control group was treated with amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium, and the observation group was treated with Bailui granule on the basis of the control group. The clinical efficacy, inflammatory factors, time of symptom resolution and occurrence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 98.04%,which was higher than 84.31% of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P﹤0.05).After treatment, the levels of tumor necrosis factor-α,interleukin-6 and interleukin-8 in 2 groups were lower than before treatment, and observation group was lower than control group, the difference was statistically significant(P﹤0.05);the time of symptom resolution in observation group was shorter than that in control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P﹤0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P﹥0.05).Conclusion The combination of Bairui granules and amoxicillin clavulanate potassium has a more ideal therapeutic effect on acute tonsillitis in children. It can reduce inflammatory reactions, significantly shorten the time for symptom resolution, and has good medication safety.
