Effect of Electroacupuncture Combined with Medium Frequency Electrical Stimulation on Cervical Vertebra Function in Patients with Cervical Radiculopathy
Objective To investigate the effect of electroacupuncture combined with medium frequency electrical stimulation in the treatment of cervical radiculopathy. Methods 62 patients with cervical radiculopathy admitted to Taizhou Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital from January 2020 to June 2023 were selected as the study objects and were divided into a control group and an observation group by random number table method. The control group(n=31)was treated with traction and massage, and the observation group(n=31)was treated with electroacupuncture combined with medium frequency electrical stimulation on this basis. The efficacy, cervical function, pain degree, range of motion and nerve conduction velocity were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 93.55%,which was higher than 74.19% of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P﹤0.05).After treatment, the neck disability index score and pain numerical rating scale score in the observation group were(15.58±3.16)points and(1.76±0.54)points,respectively,which were lower than those in the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P﹤0.05);the left and right flexion and left and right rotation of cervical vertebra in the observation group were larger than those in the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P﹤0.05);the motor nerve conduction velocity and sensory nerve conduction velocity of the observation group were(48.51±2.32)cm/s and(41.63±2.11)cm/s,respectively,which were faster than those of the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P﹤0.05).Conclusion Electroacupuncture combined with medium frequency electrical stimulation is effective in the treatment of cervical radiculopathy, which can reduce pain, improve cervical function and motion, and increase nerve conduction velocity.
