Efficacy of RhEGF Combined with Lidocaine and Vitamin E in the Treatment of Recurrent Oral Ulcers in Children
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of recombinant human epidermal growth factor(rhEGF)combined with lidocaine and vitamin E in the treatment of recurrent oral ulcer(ROU)in children. Methods 94 ROU children admitted to the department of stomatology in the first affiliated hospital of Nanyang medical college from July 2022 to June 2023 were selected as the research objects and were divided into a control group and an observation group by random number table method, with 47 cases in each group. The control group was treated with vitamin E combined with lidocaine, and the observation group was treated with rhEGF on this basis. The symptom improvement, pain score, ulcer area, inflammation indexes and total effective rate were compared between the two groups. Results The pain relief time, ulcer healing time and feeding improvement time in the observation group were(3.16±1.06)d,(4.37±0.92)d and(3.49±1.04)d,respectively,which were shorter than those in the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P﹤0.05).After 3 days of treatment, the pain score, ulcer area,interleukin-8 and tumor necrosis factor-α levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P﹤0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was 97.87%,higher than 82.98% of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P﹤0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of drug-related adverse reactions between the two groups(P﹥0.05).Conclusion rhEGF combined with lidocaine and vitamin E has an ideal effect in the treatment of ROU in children, which can promote the regression of clinical symptoms, reduce the level of inflammatory indicators, and accelerate the healing of ulcer and improve the oral status of children.
