Clinical Effect of Intra-Articular Injection of Autologous Platelet Riched Plasma Assisted ESWT in the Treatment of Elderly Knee Osteoarthritis
Objective To investigate the effect of intra-articular injection of autologous platelet riched plasma(PRP)assisted extracorporeal shock wave therapy(ESWT)on elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis(KOA).Methods 70 elderly patients with KOA admitted to Tai'an Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from May 2021 to May 2023 were selected and were divided into a control group and an observation group according to random number table method, with 35 cases in each group. The control group was treated with ESWT,and the observation group was treated with PRP intra-articular injection. Both groups were treated for 8 weeks. The clinical efficacy, pain degree, knee function and inflammatory factor levels were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 94.29%,higher than 77.14% of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P﹤0.05).After treatment, the pain Visual Analogue Scale Score of the observation group was(1.29±0.36)points,which was lower than(2.54±0.53)points of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P﹤0.05).After treatment, the levels of interleukin-6,C-reactive protein and tumor necrosis factor-α in the observation group were(38.53±4.09)ng/L,(7.24±1.36)mg/L and(30.23±3.95)ng/mL,respectively,which were lower than(59.46±6.25)ng/L,(9.75±1.89)mg/L and(36.57±5.09)ng/mL in the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P﹤0.05).After treatment, the Lysholm knee function score in the observation group was(79.96±6.31)points,higher than(70.53±5.69)points in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P﹤0.05).Conclusion Intra-Articular injection of PRP with ESWT can relieve pain, improve knee joint function and reduce inflammation in elderly patients with KOA,and can be widely used in clinic.
