Comparative Study on the Therapeutic Effect of Glass Fiber Post and Cast Metal Post on Dental Defect Repair
Objective To compare the effects of glass fiber post and cast metal post on tooth defect restoration.Methods 80 patients with tooth defects in our hospital from January 2022 to January 2023 were selected as the research object and divided into a control group and observation group according to the random number table method.The control group(n=40)used cast metal post,and the observation group(n=40)used glass fiber post.Compare and statistically analyze the repair success rate,treatment satisfaction,gingival sulcus bleeding index(SBD)and gingival index(GI)of two groups of patients before and after treatment.Results The success rate of repair in the observation group was as high as 92.50%,which was higher than 72.50%in the control group,and the difference between the groups was statistically significant(P＜0.05).The satisfaction scores for repair effect,comfort,chewing ability,and appearance effect in the observation group were(7.20±1.40)points,(8.35±1.00)points,(8.45±0.68)points,and(8.35±0.62)points,respectively,which were higher than(5.55±1.16)points,(6.75±1.10)points,(7.02±0.56)points,and(7.07±0.55)points in the control group,the differences between groups were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Comparison of SBI and GI between the two groups before treatment,the differences were not statistically significant(P＞0.05);after treatment,the SBI and GI of the observation group were lower than those of the control group,the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P＜0.05).The acceptance rates of tooth color and edge adaptability in the observation group were 92.50%and 90.00%,respectively,which were higher than the 72.50%and 70.00%in the control group,the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion When the patients with tooth defect are treated with glass fiber post,the restoration effect is better than that of cast metal post,which can obtain higher satisfaction and reduce gingival index and gingival sulcus bleeding index,the effect is remarkable and the clinical application is worth popularizing.
